Help Officer Jose Gomez

Officer Jose Gomez has been with the Hawthorne Police Department for over 10 years. He is currently assigned to the Patrol division and his prior assignments include the Hawthorne Police Department S.W.AT. Team and Hawthorne P.D. Honor Guard detail.

On 04/07/2019 at approximately 9:20am, the Hawthorne Police Department received a call of a domestic dispute at a local hotel in the City. When officers responded, the suspect ran across the street into a shopping center. Officers confronted him, after which the suspect shot at them and fled. 

During the officer involved shooting, Officer Gomez was struck in the leg and is recovering from surgery. 

The Hawthorne Police Officers’ Association in conjunction with First Responder Processing has setup this donation page to help assist Officer Gomez and his family with potential missed work time and other associated costs.
